Craft Supply Swaps

Flint Handmade hosts Craft Supply Swaps at The Lunch Studio in Downtown Flint three times a year on the first Saturday of January, April and October from 10am-1pm and every August at the Grand Blanc Farmers Market!

How the Craft Supply Swaps Work

Throughout the year, gather up clean craft supplies in good condition that you no longer use or want. Hold on to these supplies until a Swap day

On the day of the Swap, swappers sign in and are encouraged to make a donation of $3-$5 to support Flint Handmade.

We have tables with labeled bins for every craft supply category (e.g. yarn, fabric, patterns, etc.). If you bring supplies to Swap, Flint Handmade volunteers will sort your items onto the appropriate tables.

You may take as much or as little as you like whether you brought supplies to swap or not.  Remember to bring your own tote bags.

The Lunch Studio will be serving up delicious soups and sandwiches, so be sure come hungry!

When the Swap ends, our volunteers will pack up any remaining supplies and donate them to local charities. If you know of any charities, community groups, etc. that are in need of craft supplies, please have a representative from the group come to the Swap a 1/2 hour before the end of the event and they will be welcome to take the remaining swap items.

If you would like to volunteer at the Swap, please email us at flinthandmade@hotmail.com.

Supplies may include, but are not limited to fabric, thread, ribbon, sewing notions, buttons, patterns, crafting books, scrapbook supplies, adhesives, painting supplies, embroidery hoops & floss, yarn, crochet hooks, knitting needles, beads and beading supplies.
